OFFICIAL: We Will Get to See the New Jazz Soon; Japan Launch in September

Surprises after surprises, here is something which will allow some rest to the unnerved. In an official communication, Honda has revealed that the company will launch All-New Fit (Jazz in India) in Japan in September this year.

This goes very much in tandem with the earlier reports of the new-Jazz making way before the all-new City! What this means for India is that we will come to know a lot of details about the car which are hazy at this moment. Ever since Honda decided to pull the plug on the earlier Jazz, Honda fans have been disappointed.

But the axing came with a promise that India will get the All-New Jazz! Honda will launch the next-gen Jazz in India towards the early part of next year and Japan’s launch will preview the car for us, Indians. Honda has also promised that, contrary to the earlier Jazz, the new Jazz will come with a higher localization in turn enabling the company to price it competitively without loosing out a dime.

The next-Gen Jazz will be powered by the same 1.2L I-VTEC petrol motor but the talk of the town is the introduction of the new 1.5L I-DTEC diesel engine from Amaze. With this new diesel engine in the kitty, Jazz will be a direct and more prepared rival to Swift and others in this segment.

What we are interested is the positioning of new Jazz. Since we have the Amaze at the higher end and the Brio at the lower, Honda is expected to position Jazz between these two siblings. Which means we can expect slightly lesser prices than Amaze variant to variant. Now comes a contradiction, Jazz is a premium car which comes with a lot of space. Will positioning it under the Amaze do justice?

Let’s wait for more details to understand Honda’s ploy here.
