Barely a few days back, the first ever spyshots of a spruced up Punto revealing its rear-mounted spare tyre made way but that was not India! And now, for all the non-believers, the Punto Adventure (as it is expected to be called) has been snapped in India as well.
Spotted here is ‘almost’ the regular Punto hatchback with a hidden rear door. What is interesting to note is the hunch under those wraps which clearly signifies the rear-mounted spare wheel (stepny) and which is the only possible give-away that this is the hunched up Punto Crossover. In fact, had that protrude not been present we would have taken it as the facelifted Punto which is also scheduled to be launched in India very soon according to Fiat’s officially announced roadmap.
Anything-on-wheels, the originator of these spypics, shares that only the rear of the mule was hidden and the front was running without any camouflage what-so-ever. Now, does this mean that the Punto Adventure will come with absolute same looks of the current Punto? We doubt! And believe that changes to the front will come up eventually to the overall looks of the car.
We also expect a slightly higher ground clearance and a wee bit of ‘rough-ness’ to the looks of this Punto crossover.
In terms of engines, Fiat Adventure will sport the same 1.4L naturally aspirated petrol motor from current Linea and how can they miss out the 1.3L diesel, which we believe will be in the 90PS VGT tune. Launch of Fiat’s Adventure is scheduled towards the second half of this year and it is the same car that Fiat denoted as ‘B-CUV’ while revealing their Indian roadmap.
