Renault, as a first and an obvious step is working on its current ‘wafer-thin’ sales and service network in India. With the launch of Duster in India, even people who gave Renault a passe, are entering their showrooms.

Duster has been on fire even before it was launched. According to last known count, Duster has mopped up more than 8000 bookings in a span of few days since its launch here in India.

Now comes an interesting preposition. Autojunction reports that Renault has plans to enter used car business here in India.

During Duster’s launch, Len Curran VP Sales and Marketing said that there is a huge potential in used car business here in India and they are looking at it but it might be a year away. He further revealed that they might call the new business venture as ‘Renault Diamond‘.

He also stated that it would help them lure customers and build their own market share. The company also expects Dusters coming to the used car market in around a year from now. Renault Diamond would give them a chance to keep customers within the Renault family. Curran also hinted that the venture would be a multi-brand outlet which would include cars from other manufacturers as well.

Renault has 4 products in their folio currently in India – Pulse, Koleos, Fluence and Duster. There is a new sedan car scheduled around Diwali which might be called as ‘Future
