Renault Launches Base RxE Variant of Scala Diesel at Rs 8.29 Lakh

Rebadging Nissan’s Sunny, Renault launched Scala last year. Sales have been gradually picking up of this spacious sedan. When it was launched, Renault did not offer the base RxE variant in diesel and hence the diesel started from RxL at Rs 8.69 Lakh (ex-Delhi) which now costs Rs 8.79 Lakhs according to Renault’s official website.

Today, through an official press release, Renault has announced that they have launched the entry level RxE variant of Scala at a price of Rs 8.29 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi. This is, hence, cheaper by as much as Rs 50,000 than the next RxL variant.

New Renault Scala RxE Features:

  • Driver Side Airbag
  • ABS (Anti Lock Brakes)
  • Electronic Brake Force Distribution
  • Brake Assist
  • Integrated Music System
  • Rear Cooling Vents
  • Anti-Pinch Power Windows
  • 2+2 Year/80,000 Km Warranty

Scala RxE is powered by the same 1.5L 1461cc K9K diesel engine which produces 86PS of peak power output at 3750 rpm and a torque of 200Nm at 2000 rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Scala is a better looking version of Sunny and comes at a very slight premium variant to variant.

With this move, we are sure there will be cannibalization with Nissan’s Sunny but it is definitely expected to bring in good volumes to Renault. Renault has already updated its website with these details and the car is already available at its dealerships across the nation.
