So, its clear that Lodgy has not gone the way Renault wanted it to. According to the information we have, the introduction of the crossover-like Stepway variant was advanced due to the lack of initial interest. And now they are trying to add more spice to make the MPV a luring preposition.
The company launched the Lodgy in both the 8 seater variant and the more luxurious 7 seater version. However, the 7-seater version was restricted to only the top trims with the 110 PS 1.5 litre dCi engine. In a new update, Renault is planning to launch a 7 seater in the base RxE trim, which is offered only in the 85 PS option.
The difference between the 7 seater and 8 seater versions is that – 7 seater gets captain seats in the second row hence making it a more comfortable people mover (but it misses out on the one extra seating capacity) and trays on the back of the front seats.
In the currently available 7 seater and 8 seater variants of RxZ trim and the Lodgy Stepway the price difference is Rs 30,000. For the upcoming RXE also it is expected to be the same.
