Renault is planning big this 2015! To shed dependence on the Duster which is the only car bringing them sales, they plan to increase their market share from the current 2 percent to 5 percent by launching new products in the market. Very recently, Renault launched Lodgy MPV which squares up against the Ertiga, Mobilio and Innova.
Their next product, codenamed as XBA, will be in the entry level volume segment. New details on the car have surfaced which claim that Renault will unveil the car on 20th May in India (according to Indianautosblog).
Apart from this, an article on MotorOctane reports that XBA’s commercial name may be ‘KAYOU’ (What??). How will it be pronounced we are not sure but that doesn’t sound like a nice name to begin with, specially for the segment we are talking about!
Renault officials, according to Indianautosblog.com, also share that it will have a crossover-like styling, hinting at the confirmation that it may be based on the Datsun Redi-go concept showcased at the Auto Expo in 2014. XBA will get an all-new three cylinder 800cc petrol engine which has been codenamed as BR-8.
Renault XBA is expected to compete with Alto, WagonR, Eon and others in the A or entry-B small hatchback segment.
