There has been a lot of mystery surrounding the complete facelift of Ritz. We wonder what exactly is Maruti’s ploy here.
The facelifted Ritz diesel was launched without any bit of fanfare at all. Just a press release and things were done! For the facelifted Ritz petrol there was not even a press notification. It just made it to the showrooms. Similar is the case with the Automatic version.
Maruti has put up the Ritz Automatic at their official website but no dealer we have interacted with till now, has any clue about it. Apart from Ritz AT’s details, Maruti has also listed its prices which are the same Rs 6.15 Lakh for both metallic and non-metallic versions ex-showroom Delhi.
These prices are slightly higher than Brio AT which is priced at Rs 5.74 Lakh (S(O) AT) and Rs 5.99 Lakh (V AT). But according to ARAI certified fuel efficiency Ritz stands at a better 17.16 kmpl figure compared to 16.5 kmpl for Brio AT.
Here are a few important pointers about Ritz AT pricing (ex-showroom Delhi):
These prices, if real, are definitely more optimistic than what Maruti should have chosen. Maruti seems to be taking things for granted that being the first Automatic car in this segment (A-Star is smaller), Ritz AT will sell, no matter what.
Ritz Automatic will be powered by the same 1.2-Liter 4-Cylinder KB12 Petrol Engine that churns out 87 PS of power @ 6,000 RPM. This engine is mated to a 4-Speed Automatic Gearbox.
We tried contacting a few local dealers here in Pune but none of them had any clue about Ritz AT’s pricing and all of them said, there is no official intimation from Maruti regarding the car. Let’s wait for an official confirmation and hope Maruti has a surprise for all of us.
