Maruti launched the facelift of Ritz diesel yesterday and the complete press release talked specifically about the diesel variant.
This has caused a little confusion about the petrol variant. A few of our readers has asked us, ” What happens to Ritz Petrol?” Let us inform you that there is definitely the same facelifted Ritz being offered in Petrol as well. Why has Maruti not mentioned that in the press release is not known. There is a possibility that they might officially want to launch the petrol facelift a little later.
However, dealers have received the price of the new Ritz which also includes the petrol variant. The car would be offered in 4 trims similar to the outgoing Ritz – LXi, VXi, VXi with ABS and ZXi. The quantum of increase is kept minimal with the maximum increase of approximately Rs 8000. New Ritz petrol starts from 4.35 Lakh from the earlier 4.27 ex-showroom Pune.
In all possibilty, changes to the petrol engine would include variable valve timing similar to what Maruti did with Swift. There is also a possibility of Maruti introducing an Automatic variant of Ritz and that would come with the petrol variant.
When we asked a dealer here in Pune, he had diesel variants with him but there has been no petrol which has come to him.
