Sweden based Scania is one of the world’s leading truck and bus manufacturer primarily into heavy commercial vehicles which include industral and marine engines.
Scania ventured into India in 2007 through a partnership with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and established its Indian subsidiary, Scania Commercial Vehicles India in 2011. Scania currently have on-road haulage trucks R 500 6×4, G 460 6×4, P 410 6×2, P 360 4×2 and the recently launched P 410 8×4 mining tipper.
Scania to Launch New Intercity Coaches Tomorrow
In order to strengthen their Indian presence, Scania will be announcing the launch of Scania Intercity Coaches tomorrow in an event scheduled in Mumbai. MotorBash will be covering the event and will bring in a launch report for all the details.
Anders Grundströmer is the New MD
Scania India has got a new Managing Director, Anders Grundströmer who will also be the Senior Vice President of Scania Group. Currently the Executive Regional Director Western and Southern Europe, Mr Grundströmer, will succeed the current MD India, Henrik Fagrenius. Mr Fagrenius will move to his new role of Executive Regional Director for the Southern Africa, Asia and Oceania (AAO) region and member of Scania Group Management.
Anders Grundströmer is an MBA and started his career with SAAB’s car division in 1977. He has been with Scania since 1992 where he has been handling various roles and responsibilities over all these years. These changes will take place from 1st February 2013. Mr Anders will have the herculean task to take Scania to the top against all the other giants that have entered in India in this segment.
