SCOOP: First Spyshot of India Bound 7 Seater Fiat 500XL

So here it is, right in front of your eyes! After a few speculations and sketches, we have the first ever spyshot of the Fiat 500XL.

Based on the Fiat 500L, 500XL is more of an MUV with those added extra pair of seats for the third row (visible in this spyshot). It is expected to go into production by this month end in Kragujevac, Serbia with a launch in Europe in a couple of months thereafter.

Internationally, it is expected that Fiat 500XL will get the same engines as the 500L, which means a combination of two petrol motors – 95 bhp 1.4L & 105bhp 0.9 Multi-Air, and two diesel mills – 85bhp 1.3L Multijet & 105bhp 1.6L Multijet II.

According to Autocar India, this MPV is India bound but no information regarding its launch can be ascertained currently. In India, Fiat is expected to use the 1.3L Multijet engine with VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) and it will go against Maruti Ertiga and the upcoming Chevrolet Enjoy.

Interestingly, with Fiat confirming the launch of 1.6L Multijet in India with the new Linea next year (Read Details), we also become hopeful of this high powered engine getting employed in this big 500XL.

  1. 500XL looks truly Fiat! How badly are they performing in market; Somewhere down in the heart, there’s belief that Fiat will succeed in India! Did I read 1.6 MultiJet? Bring it on Fiat.
