SCOOP: Tata’s Upcoming Falcon 5 aka Manza CS Caught First Time Ever

Reports and spyshots of upcoming Vista facelift aka Falcon 4 have been making waves quite often. However, the elder sibling and the car which has been speculated for at least a couple of years now, Manza CS, has been spotted for the first time ever.

These spyshots you see here are courtesy Zigwheels.com which feature a mule which appears to be slightly away from being production ready.

What is Manza CS or Falcon 5?

Manza CS (CS stands for Compact Sedan in today’s lingo) is a shortened, read sub 4 meter version of the original full sized Manza sedan. It has been codenamed as Falcon 5 and will be launched earlier than the Vista facelift (which goes by the codename of Falcon 4), sometime around September-November 2014.

These spyshots clearly reveal the protruding trunk which doesn’t carry any tail lamp cluster. However, what appears clearly is that it will sport flowing tail lamps in order to give the car a slightly bigger appearance.

Quite obviously, the bootlid, as well as the rear bumper must have gone through a world of change. The headlamps do not appear to be the final decided ones and we expect similar looking headlamps that the Falcon 4 will sport. You can check them here.

Against the honeycomb grille the Falcon 4 test mules have been spotted with, the Falcon 5 is seen here with horizontal slats running across. The ORVMs here are also redesigned and the overall cockpit doesn’t appear to have been tinkered with much. This is good as well as bad.

Good,  because it will retain the very impressive interior space which is sure to attract this segment customers. Bad, because it retains the, often touted as a boring design forward.

Falcon 5 will carry the same 1.3L quadrajet diesel engine; it remains to be seen if it comes in the higher powered VGT 90PS version or the 75PS FGT tune. The petrol will be the 1.2L turbocharged motor that they will officially announce very shortly.

Tata will also showcase the Falcon 4 as well as the Falcon 5 at the Auto Expo which begins on 5th February in Noida.
