If you are anyway near a motorcycle guy, you will really be one of the most excited soul today. Not because you reached your office 15 minutes earlier, but because KTM launched Duke 390 in India at a shocker of a price tag!
Moments back Bajaj pulled the wraps off one of the most important bikes, KTM Duke 390 in the Indian market. It competes inadvertently, with any bike which you call as ‘powerful’. And despite a class leading performance, power to weight ratio, Duke 390 is priced at just Rs 1.8 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Now, the next question is can Ford really deliver the same kind of excitement when they launch their EcoSport tomorrow. I know there is no direct connection between the Duke 390 and EcoSport but both of them have really been aspirational (in a sense) and long awaited with bated breaths.
We already knew almost all details of Duke 390 before its launch and price was the only thing that everyone was eagerly waiting to know before putting their money on the table. Absolutely similar is the case with EcoSport. We know almost everything right from the looks, specs, features, trims and variants. The only big decider is the price tag it will come attached with! According to unconfirmed sources, we have come to know that EcoSport might start at Rs 5.95 Lakh in India but as we said, these are unconfirmed!
Now that Bajaj has kept their promise of ‘affordable powerbiking’, we seriously expect all other manufacturers to learn how to surprise their customers. Ford has also promised ‘very luring and competitive’ tag for EcoSport and we really expect a shocker, when Mr Joginder Singh, reads out the prices tomorrow. How about a Rs 5.49 Lakh entry, Ford?
