After all that turmoil, the last thing that was expected of the government at this moment was a price hike announcement on diesel and other fuels which drive the nation.
In a news that would give respite to majority of Indians, Oil Minister S Jaipal Reddy has said that they are not considering raising rates of diesel, domestic LPG and kerosene for now, after a meeting called by finance minister Pranab Mukherjee to discuss the impact of fuel price hike on inflation.
Reddy also said that the dates are not yet fixed for arranging a meeting of a ministerial panel to decide on revising rates of diesel,LPG and kerosene.
This simply means that the gap between petrol and diesel further goes up and petrol market is going to face the brunt.
