Skoda India is to Invest 300 Crores to Improve Operation, Localisation and Production

After starting thinking about themselves, Volkswagen Group is up with a new strategy for their fully owned subsidiary Skoda Auto. The Czech Republic based car maker Skoda Auto is setting up a target to sell 1.5 Million cars globally by 2018.

In order to improve operation and localization in India, Skoda Auto India will infuse 300 Crores of equity that will also expand production capacity. It is said that Skoda is already working hard to come up with a new line up of products that will help them achieving more numbers in India.

Mr. Juergen Stackmann, Skoda Auto Board Member said: “India is one of our main strategic pillars of our growth strategy. We establish a structure in India that will also apply in other major markets to manage future growth”.

The newly appointed Managing Director of Skoda AutoIndia, Mr. Sudhir Rao said: “We cannot have any weaknesses in our product offering to the end customers. A greater emphasis is being put on the pace of dealership reach into the country. We have a competitive portfolio today, but to aspire to higher volumes. There is need to appeal to a wider target market and we are working on those directions”.

As the statements goes, can we expect an improved After Sales Service Network along with some fresh launches? What do you think?
