Spied: 2014 Renault (Dacia) Duster Spotted Again in Europe

Is it a coincidence that when Nissan is testing their version of Duster (which they call as Terrano), Renault’s subsidiary Dacia is also busy testing a facelift of the original Duster?

We have had a few spyshots of the new 2014 Duster a few weeks ago and now we have a new set of pics of a partly camouflaged Duster doing its hot weather tests in southern Europe courtesy Worldcarfans.com. Considering that Renault is running these test mules with front and rear camouflage, the 2014 Duster will be a facelift which will come with a new refreshed face and a few tweaks to the rear. There have been spyshots earlier which also report about a change to the new Duster’s interiors as well.

Duster has been a Dacia product actaully and it has been on sale since 2010. Back in India Renault has just slapped its moniker since Dacia is not present here. It has been exactly a year since Duster was launched in India and it has seen a tremendous response and has been the French manufacturer’s mainstay in the stables.

However, with growing competition from all sides, including the latest very well priced rage, EcoSport and the upcoming Nissan Terrano, we can expect Renault to consider launching this updated Duster in India in some time.

Dacia will showcase this facelifted 2014 Duster at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. Renault also exports right hand drive Duster’s from its Chennai plant in India. It would be interesting to see how people respond to this facelifted Duster vis-a-vis EcoSport and Terrano, if Renault decides to bring it to India anytime soon.
