Chevrolet is busy preparing their Sail for Indian launch under the name “Sail UV-A“. Sail is a car that General Motors is bringing from China to India in hatchback and notchback avatars.
Meanwhile, amidst all this wait, Auto.Sohu has posted spy pics of Chevrolet Sail EV which is spied somewhere in China. First unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2010, Sail EV is expected to go into production around November.
The Sail EV is powered by an 87hp engine and can do a top whack of 130kmph. Normal Sail price ranges from around Rs 3.5 Lakh to Rs 6.95 Lakh. However, this Electric Sail is expected to cost somewhere around 120,000 yuan which is approximately Rs 10.5 Lakh.
Looking at the picture of Sail EV displayed at Guangzhou Auto Show 2010, we would suggest Chevrolet to lend this look to the complete Sail lineup; It looks much better!
Coming back to India, Sail UV-A would get both – a 1.2L petrol engine from Beat and 1.3L MultiJet diesel engine and is scheduled to get launched within a couple of months.
