SPIED: Force Testing New Gurkha for NVH on the Road; We have the Proof

Force launched their extreme off-roader new 2013 Gurkha in February 2013 at the International Bus and Utility show 2013 in Noida and deliveries were scheduled to start sometime during middle of the year.

It did attract a lot of eyeballs with its fresher hard looks and rave media reviews that flew in. However, what has happened so far is that Force has not been able to retail Gurkha till now and sales will start from January 2014 (More Details). And the reason for the delay is cited to be some internal issues with the off-roader.

We tested the Gurkha extensively at Force’s treacherous track in Pune and came out smiling. However, we did experience the vehicle spreading a lot of vibrations on the overall body of the vehicle. Now, in a new development, we spotted this Gurkha test mule ferrying Force Motors employees and possibly coming from a test run of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. It was headed towards Force Motors facility.

Now, what is interesting to note is the white sticker at the rear glass. Though, you can not make out head or tail of it because of the bad quality of the pic, we will read it out for you. It read something like R&D Vehicle for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Vibration Testing.

Quite clearly then, Force is working on the NVH of Gurkha and is doing it in different stages. For now, they are testing two different stages of rectification and we hope to see a lot better on-the-road Gurkha in January, because off-the-roads there is nothing that comes close to it including the Thar (around this price bracket). We also expect a much more car-like steering (which Force officials promised us) from the truck-like one our test Gukha came shod with.
