Hyundai’s Santa Fe has been one SUV, that has been playing a lot of hide-n-seek with us and has been caught testing in India a lot of times earlier.
There have been rumors that Hyundai has delayed the plans of launching new Santa Fe in India for the time being but a set of newer spyshots speak just the opposite. The current gen Hyundai Santa Fe is not really a scorching seller for the company and has been a decent offering in the Indian market.
The new Santa Fe adorns Hyundai’s new design philosophy and looks a lot sharper and it carries a huge list of features and equipments. The pictures you see here are shared by a reader of Cardekho.com somewhere in South India. This new-gen Santa Fe is expected to carry the same 2.2L CRDi diesel motor but with significant tweaks to make it more refined, driveable and fuel efficient.
These spyshots also reveal the huge dimensions of the SUV and in fact, it is relatively bigger than the current model on sale. Likely to be offered in both manual and automatic options, the biggest question that everyone is confused about is the number of seats that the new Santa Fe will come with. Internationally, Hyundai offers the new Santa Fe as a 5 seater. There is also a 7-Seater Grand Santa Fe which is bigger in size.
However, of whatever mules we have seen in India, all of them appear to be the regular 5-seater new Santa Fe instead of the Grand Santa Fe. This might mean that Hyundai is planning a 5-seater Santa Fe only for now or are we unaware of something?
