SPIED: Honda Begins Production of Jazz, Colours Revealed

After Honda created quite a stir in 2014 with the new City and 7-seater Mobilio, the Japanese manufacturer seems all set to woo us with the new Jazz. The car was initially supposed to be launched in the second half of 2014 but it was put off until 2015 because of the delay with Mobilio. The word on the streets is that the company has started production of the new Jazz which means that the launch is not very far.

These latest spy shots thanks to Gaadiwaadi.com also reveal interesting information about the colour options Honda is going to provide the Jazz with. These may include white, red, silver, titanium, black and maroon. Of course Honda will keep a whole set of fancy names for these.

The Jazz, based on the platform of the new City, gets a front section which looks very similar to the sedan, the interiors too shall have a lot of parts shared. We expect some segment-best features on the car like touch screen infotainment system with built in controls for the climate control, electronically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, rear air con vents etc.

The new Jazz, unlike last time when it was only available with a petrol engine, will also get a new diesel motor. The petrol engine will be the same 1.2L 88PS 109Nm i-vtec whereas the diesel will be the now familiar 1.5 L Earth Dreams i-DTEC producing 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

The difference this time though is that Honda will be using high levels of localisation to keep prices in check and to ensure that the end product is more sensibly placed in our B-segment.
