Skoda is busy revamping their Indian strategy and product lineup for the longer run. The company recently stopped production of their Fabia hatch and has plans to withdraw it from our market sometime soon.
Next to face the axe is the current Laura which will be replaced by this Octavia A7 in India. Yes, with this car, the famous ‘Octavia’ brand will make a comeback to our shores. In our earlier spyshots in April, we shared with all our readers, for the first time, that the new Skoda Octavia A7 will come with a DSG gearbox.
We spot the same car again in Pune which is continuing its test runs around the Mumbai-Pune highway. This is the higher trim of Octavia which comes with smoked headlamps, large glossy black panaromic sunroof and (possibly a 7-speed) DSG gearbox. The new Octavia A7 follows Skoda’s new design language and comes with smart looking butterfly grille.
This is the Octavia A7 TDI diesel variant which carried load cans at the back seats along with plenty of test equipment. When this Octavia A7 makes way into India, it will replace the Laura. According to the information we have Skoda has plans to launch this Octavia A7 towards the end of August this year.
