Our reader from Pune, Rishabh Chopda has shared with us, these exclusive pictures of Mercedes A-Class roaming around on the streets of Pune in all its glory. These pictures were taken near Khadki-Bopodi road in Pune. Looking at the pics, we can clearly make out the sheer road presence of this big luxury hatch from the German manufacturer.
With A-Class, Mercedes plans to take the game a level ahead. They very recently launched their cheapest car in India, the B-Class Sports Tourer MPV which starts at over 21 Lakhs. A-Class would be the first hatchback from any luxury manufacturer in India leaving the BMW’s Mini. This would also ensure the lowest entry point for owning a luxury brand for the masses.
This A-Class test mule is covered by a thin white sheet and is slightly camouflaged. However, the car is running across without any temporary test number plates to prevent any unwanted attention possibly. We expect a 1.8L 134hp turbo diesel A200 CDI to make way into India. It would be coupled by a 7-Speed dual-clutch Automatic Gearbox.
With the testing in full swing we can start expecting this A-Class in India sometime during the first half of next year. The most luring part of the deal is expected to be a mouth-watering price tag of somewhere around 16-18 Lakh INR. Does that make you interested?
