SPIED: VW Up! Ambles Along in Pune Without Any Confirmed Indian Innings

It has been many days since we talked about the Volkswagen Up!, a small car that is expected to sit under the current Polo and be the volume churner for VW in India.

We have shared with you a couple of exclusive spyshots along with a lot of details regarding this cute looking car. You can read the following articles for more details.

For the last few months, Up!’s spyshots had dried up and the car was not spotted but these latest pics shared by a Team-Bhp member from NH4 brings the car back to the scene. Spotted around Pune, this car was the 2-door version. The 2-door version might not make it to India, but, despite VW’s decline, we feel they will launch the regular 4-door version which has also been caught in India, sometime in the coming future.

According to our earlier encounters with the Up!, the car has been stripped to the bare minimum with no alloy wheels, manual roll-down windows, no central locking, non-funky interiors which definitely give us an Indian-angle suspicion. Internationally, Up! is powered by a 3-cylinder (did someone say 3 cylinders yet again?) 1L MPFI petrol engine which produces 60PS and 75PS of power outputs.

Up! makes a fabulous prospect for VW, if they plan to play in the A or B1 segment of India. If priced well, we do see a lot of volumes coming to the kitty of the Germans. But for now, the suggestion is; Reveal VW..When are you planning to bring Up! to India?
