SPIED: Yellow & Red EcoSports Caught Trying to Cut Through Traffic in Chennai

The most awaited compact SUV of the coming times – Ford Ecosport is, for sure, becoming real common when it comes to everyday spottings. 

These are clear indications that Ford has sped up the the testing process in a bid to equip themselves well in advance for a full fledged launch.

In a latest, MotorBash’s avid reader Gayaz Khan from Chennai spotted these two test mules of Ford Ecosport near Singaperumal koil, near Ford’s factory in Chennai. These two test mules, one in red following the other one in yellow, seemed to be heading back to the factory. Cosmetic differences like body colored door handles on one and black colored ones on the other, fog lamps, body colored rear view mirrors hint at different trims.

With frequent spottings of yellow Ecosport, we have begin to feel that Ford is testing this color for our Indian market and it would be a welcome move. Before its launch the Ford Figo facelift was also spotted in yellow color. You can notice the road presence of the yellow colored mule is more than the red one. With a Tata LCV at the background, Ecosport looks significantly larger in dimensions specially the yellow one.

Despite the rumors of a delayed launch, we firmly believe that Ecosport would be making its way into the Indian market within the first half of this year. Ecosport would be powered by 1.0L Ecoboost petrol engine and the 1.5L diesel mill from new Fiesta. Possibilities of the 1.5L petrol mill from the new Fiesta are also ripe.
