Mahindra is all set to hit the market with a plethora of compact SUVs starting this year. A new spy pic of their S101 (or S102) has been snapped and published at Autocar India which reveals two interesting bits – first, a nice upmarket dashboard and second, an AMT gear lever!
This is for the first time production spec interiors of the S101/S102 have been snapped. There appears to be an integrated music system and those dials may just be the Air Conditioning knobs placed vertically. The gear lever, as we know by now, has been integrated into the dashboard to liberate some additional space at the front seats, like Datsun Go.
The AMT gearbox on S101/S102 has also been snapped for the first time. Mahindra showcased it at the Auto Expo 2014 on the Quanto and along with the Quanto facelift, it seems, it will also go to other upcoming compact SUVs as well.
S101/S102 is a sub 4 meter micro SUV and Mahindra is expected to launch it sometime later this year with a new 1.2 liter petrol engine and possibly the 1.5 liter 100hp 3 cylinder diesel engine from Quanto.
