Sub 4 Lakh Datsun Go Spied Again in Chennai; Launch Early 2014

If the low cost Micra Active impressed you, it will be joined by its sibling pretty soon. Nissan, under its budget brand, newly reincarnated ‘Datsun’ will launch its first product in India, the ‘GO’ hatch next year.

And its testing is in full swing around Renault-Nissan’s plant in Chennai. After earlier spyshots, we have a new rear shot of a white ‘Brand Logo’ hidden Go mule shot by geeash, a Team-BHP.com forum member. What’s interesting are the sedate looks of the hatch. It doesn’t have any glaring flowing lines to attract any significant attention but it looks very proportionate and appears to be carrying all that flab well.

GO will be Datsun’s first car for India and will debut Datsun brand for us. It is being claimed to be a no-frills car which will go on carrying its duty without any fuss. GO’s fuss-free design has been conceptualized by Nissan’s Global Design Center in Japan and its R&D and Engineering development has been carried out in India.

The 5-door front wheel drive Datsun Go will come with Micra’s 1.2L petrol motor which is expected to come in a lower state of tune coupled with a 5-Speed transmission.

GO Launch & Price:

Go will be launched towards the early part of 2014 and is an Auto Expo candidate for sure. What Nissan has promised is a sub 4 Lakh price tag but we assume that is for the top variant. Our bet is a very striking Rs 2.99 Lakh starting price for the car.

..And there is a Datsun GO+ MPV as Well..!
