Suzuki Baleno (YRA) is Ready; Spied Uncamouflaged Ahead of Frankfurt Unveil

Latest, clearest and uncamouflaged spyshots of Suzuki Baleno confirm that it is absolutely ready! Looks old-school though!

Maruti Suzuki’s next product in their attempt to go premium is the Baleno hatchback which we have known for quite some time as the YRA. The near production ready version of the car has been spotted by the folks at Gaadiwaadi.com ahead of its official unveil at Frankfurt later this month. Based on the iK-2 concept shown at Geneva, the Baleno will be fighting the Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20.

The car has the same stance as seen in the teaser video released by Suzuki a few weeks back. There is no element of aggressiveness in terms of design and it appears that some oldie has asked his design team to be as conservative as it can be! The head lamp console has the same old Swift inspired design philosophy while the grille and chrome lining show strong inspiration from a certain Nissan product. The ORVMS sport integrated indicators while the rear tail lamp leaves much to be desired!

In terms of engine options the new Baleno is expected to sport the new 1.0 litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol mill. It may or may not come to India initially. The 1.3L DDiS diesel engine sourced from Fiat will continue duty on this one as well. Expect the car to be loaded with features to tackle its premium opponents and it will, in all probability, house its new SmartPlay infotainment system.
