Ford has got a new global CEO, Mark Fields who has taken over Alan Mulally recently. The company’s new Indian plant at Sanand Gujarat is expected to be inaugurated by Fields soon.
Ford India’s expansion plans have its upcoming factory Sanand in Gujarat in key position as the new manufacturing unit will be the birthplace of the next-gen Figo hatchback and new Figo based compact sedan. While the plant will begin commercial production in early 2015, it appears that the company has already started testing its baby limbs.
It has been over eight months since the car was first showcased right before the Auto Expo, Ford India seems to be finally getting ready to get the car prepped up for our market. Fueling this further is this confirmation from Zauba.com which confirms that Ford India has imported a few units of the Ka+ sedan as well as the Ka hatchback from Brazil, where the car has already been launched.
