At an event in Mumbai, Nissan has launched Datsun Go+ MPV which is India’s first sub 4-meter compact MPV cum wagon. It is Datsun’s second product here after the Go hatchback and both the cars are based on the same platform.
Datsun’s upcoming compact MPV, Go+ will be launched on January 15, 2015. In an official invitation, the company has informed that the launch will take place in Mumbai.
Datsun will kickstart pre-bookings of their upcoming Go+, which will be India’s first compact MPV (cum wagon), from tomorrow. Being a sub 4 meter car with the flexibility of additional 2 seats at the back, Go+ will be a versatile option and may eat into a lot of hatchbacks as well.
Datsun Go seems to be set for some more trouble. Max Mosley, the Chief of Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) may soon be writing to the recently re-elected Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, in January about the appeal which GNCAP had made to Datsun’s parent company Nissan which urged them to withdraw the Go from all the countries where it is sold, including India.
Nissan’s plan to make a success story with their Datsun brand is not going well in India and the situation has been worsened by the recent report by NCAP but that has not put them down and with new enthusiasm and zeal, they are setting the pace to welcome their new compact MPV, the Datsun Go+.
