MotorBash was the first online publication which revealed spyshots as well as the new name of ‘Movus’ quite a long time back (here). Now, in an official communication, Tata informs us that the utility vehicle has been launched in the market.
As a refresh to the Sumo Grande, the UV promises to be fuel efficient (claims best in class fuel efficiency of 15.16kmpl) and an easy to maintain car. The company is phasing out the Sumo Grande because of its low sales volume. The Sumo Gold which was launched last year continues to be the entry level Utility Vehicle from Tata.
Tata Movus Engines, Changes & Features
The Movus is powered by a 2.2L VARICOR engine which produces 120PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. Movus has an independent double wishbone suspension with coil springs in the front and parabolic leaf spring-type suspension at the rear wheels, enabling it to negotiate uneven surfaces with ease. The vehicle also boasts of a 65L fuel tank and high load-bearing capabilities.
Tata has kept the ground clearance of Movus at 180mm, making it fairly easy for people to board and de-board the car effortlessly. It also gets a new rack and pinion steering system and a new 260mm concentric sleeve cylinder self-actuating clutch for a longer life of the clutch system. A low-turning radius of 5.35 meters and a tiltable power steering system should make it an easy to drive UV in city traffic conditions.

Movus is available in two colours:
- Porcelain White
- Meteor Silver
It comes in a wide variety of seating options of 7, 8 and 9 configurations with front facing, side-facing and captain seats.
Movus Price:
Movus starts at a price of Rs 6.99 Lacs Ex-showroom Delhi and is offered in two variants – CX and LX. Tata is also offering Movus with an enhanced 3 year or 1.5 Lac kms engine warranty.
