Tata Launches Range of Ultra Trucks in Sri Lanka

Tata Motors has understood that the best way to retain or grow market share and business as a whole is to spread wings as far and wide as possible. Apart from their passenger division, the commercial vehicle division is also busy expanding its international footprint.

They have launched the new Ultra range of light and intermediate commercial trucks in Sri Lanka. The launch is in collaboration with Tata’s official importer in Sri Lanka, Diesel and Motors Engineering PLC.

Tata-Ultra-Trucks

These semi premium trucks have the tried and tested 497 TCIC common rail diesel engine which churns out a maximum power output of 125 PS and a peak torque figure of 400 Nm. It has the strongest chassis in its class with features like lockable glove box, mobile charging points, bottle holders and optional air conditioning. The parabolic suspension claim for increased comfort and houses industry first head lamps and tail lamps with integrated LEDs. The trucks get radial tires for increasing the usability and a 45 degree tiltable cabin.

Tata-Ultra-912-Launch

The company has initially launched three trucks, Ultra 612, Ultra 812 and Ultra 912, which have a GVW of 6T, 8T and 9T respectively. They are available in different body lengths which include 14, 17 and 20 foot. They will come in different payloads ranging between 2.5 to 6 tonnes. Tata will be providing 24×7 roadside assistance for these trucks and 3 years/3,00,000 km warranty.

These trucks will be available in a choice of three colours:

  • Sardinia Red
  • Pearl White
  • Arizona Blue

The dash mounted gear lever, a new generation instrumentation cluster, disc brakes, suspended seats and cable shift gearbox will definitely make a trucker’s life easier.
