Tata Might Buy Nokia Plant in Romania, To Produce Cars Obviously!

No Tata is not out there to challenge Nokia in the mobile handset market but reports suggest that Tata Motors is planning to set shops in Romania.

And the best bet they are seeing currently is the 28 acres Nokia’s Romania plant which could set them back by 1.3 billion dollars. Though these currently are rumors but definitely bear some fruit in them. Tata is expected to build trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles here.

Weekender - Art Nano
Nano will be the torch bearer for Tata in Romania.

Alongwith it would also produce passenger vehicles predominantly headed by next-generation Nano which is expected to borrow major cues from pixel and megapixel concept that they showcased.

Currently a home to Ford’s and Dacia’s (Renault) plants, local production in Romania will save Tata European Union import duties and benefit through Romania’s low wages. After the transformation into an automobile hub, the plant will have a capacity to house around 5000 employees at the plant. Let’s wait for any official word on this.
