Tata’s Revotron Engine Gets 3 Modes; Revotron Engine Labs Launched

The new Revotron engines from Tata Motors are their latest salvo in the fiercely competitive market which has pushed them under a lot of others in terms of market shares.

They have launched Revotron labs as a part of their brand recognition campaign via which they aim to acclimatize prospective customers with the new engine, which Tata likes to call ‘an engine of the future.

The first Revotron lab was inaugurated at Ambiance mall in Gurgaon in the presence of Narain Karthikeyan, the country’s first F1 racer and Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger cars business, Tata Motors. These labs will cover 15 cities in the next one month.

Talking about the key features of the engine, the management pointed out that this engine has been developed by inputs from a wide range of global leaders such as AVL, Bosch, Honeywell, Mahle and INA in areas such as combustion, boosting, reducing friction and calibration to churn out class leading performance.

The engine also boasts of a first in class Multi-drive mode, a feature which is generally present in high end sports cars, consisting of:

  • Sport
  • Eco
  • City

The 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine produces 90PS of power and 140 Nm of torque in the power band of 1750-3500rpm. The last time Tata told us that the motor produces 85PS of power so where does this extra 5PS come from?

Revotron Labs:

The Revotron lab consists of:

  • A Binaural Sound Zone: This offers a virtual sound experience in a special zone which helps in bringing out the actual experience of the Revotron engine. This aims to give a near reality experience which includes even the slight shake which happens when you turn on the engine!
  • The Revotron Challenge Game: A 3D game which enables people to the three multi drive modes wile racing with another player in a virtual medium. Participants can beat each other by selecting the right driving mode and picking up fuel drives. The game can be downloaded for free via the apple app store and Google play store. It can also be played at the Revotron lab and online at the Revotron microsite.
  • Interactive Touch Glass: This helps in sharing information about the various features and benefits of the Revotron engine.
  • Augmented Reality Application: Through this promotional campaign, visitors can get their picture clicked with a virtual Narain Karthikeyan. This picture can be shared on the Facebook page of the visitor with a catchy caption.

Besides this, Tata also plans to install Revotron holograms in over 75 dealerships across the country.
