Spyshots circulated by MotorBash.com on 15th April had caught everyone by surprise! The car in the pics was none other than the upcoming Indian version of Nissan Micra facelift.
And after a couple of months, we now know that Nissan is planning to launch it in India really soon. Media drives and almost all other pre-launch rituals have been performed. The last and the most important bit is the promotion of the car that Nissan is currently upto.
They have teased the face of the new Micra facelift, with a teaser quote – “The All New Nissan Micra, Coming Soon“. The teaser pic has also made it to the official Micra website. Though the launch date is not known, but we expect an announcement shortly and the launch to take place within a few weeks.
This Micra is slightly different from the Thailand market facelift and India will share the same car with the European market. As you can yourself make out, in its new avatar, Micra facelift looks 10 times better and modern than the existing girly Micra we have in the market.
According to an earlier report, we have learnt that Nissan might axe the base XE and XE Plus trims and will sell the car only in the XL,XV and XV Premium trims. This makes sense as it will give Nissan the needed space to place the upcoming Low-cost Micra as well as the Datsun branded K2!
New Micra facelift will also come with the promised CVT gearbox, however, the engine options will remain the same – 1.2L 76hp 3-cylinder petrol and the 1.5L K9K diesel.
