TUV300 Completely Revealed Days Before Launch; Bookings Open on Sep 1

The sub 4m compact SUV segment may have been dominated by the Ford’s EcoSport since the day it was launched, but frankly, it did not have any significant competition. However, Mahindra is at it now and it is desperate to snatch a pie from Ford. Their first product, as you all know, is going to be the TUV300, which is officially launching on the 10th of September.

And days before its introduction, Uncamouflaged spy pictures of the TUV300 have surfaced at Team BHP which for the first time give a clear view of how the SUV has come into shape. These pics are from Rajasthan where the company is out for promo shoots.

The front grille with vertical chrome slats have clear inspiration cues borrowed from the Jeeps. The tail gate has an aura of the Quanto’s ghost and gets a spare wheel as well to keep the memory fresh. The vehicle gets body coloured ORVMs and door handles giving it a premium touch. The 10 spoke alloy wheels on 17 inch tyres have a sombre look and has borrowed cues from the bigger XUV 500.

The powerhouse is supposed to be a re-worked form of the Quanto’s 1.5 litre three pot diesel mill and Mahindra is calling it as mHawk80. And as per the report, TUV300 is expected to get an automatic transmission (possibly AMT) as well most probably from launch day itself.

Mahindra has, meanwhile, announced that official booking for the TUV300 will begin from September 1, 2015 onwards. So, how do you like it…?
