In a bid to snatch a pie of the fast growing compact SUV segment, Chevrolet will also try its luck here in India. In an official confirmation the company has started teasing their ADRA Compact SUV which will be unveiled at the Auto Expo tomorrow.
And what gets sneaked here looks impressive and muscular. Adra will be Chevrolet’s smallest SUV in the world and will be an India-specific model with a possibility of making it to exports as well. Adra may just get inspirational design cues from the international Trax, which was first rumoured to be coming to India.
Adra appears to be a 4-door tall compact SUV with sweeping headlamps, roof rails, stylish alloy wheels. It will be a sub 4 meter car and hence will be a ‘small car’ in India hinting at the expectation of an aggressive price tag. Reportedly, Adra will be equipped with the 1.3L diesel engine from Sail which may continue with FGT (fixed geometry turbo) with 77bhp power. If there will be a petrol motor, it is expected to be the 1.2L engine from the Sail twins.
Chevy will showcase the car in its concept form at the Auto Expo tomorrow and going by the teaser here, we can expect a lot of futuristic design cues which will be toned down in the production version. Chevrolet will also launch the Beat facelift tomorrow which has already been busted and snapped while shooting for its commercial.
