List of 4 Upcoming Maruti Car Launches This Year; Competition at Unrest!

Maruti Suzuki has started updating their product portfolio to combat intense competition and it includes cars in many segments. Here is a compilation of a list of launches and updates coming in the near future to make it easier for you to decide whether to wait or buy the car you have been eyeing for yourself…

List of Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars in 2014:

1. Maruti Suzuki CIAZ:

Maruti is replacing the ailing SX4 with their all-new sedan Ciaz which it unveiled in India at the Auto Expo. Codenamed as YL1, Ciaz looks brilliant and one can safely say it is the best looking Maruti yet (at least in the concept form). The mid-size sedan segment has some serious competition especially the Honda City and Hyundai Verna, but if Maruti can maintain the cracker looks which the concept model had and add premium features at a value for money package then there is no reason why Maruti loyalists won’t go for it.

However, unfortunately, Ciaz is speculated to get power from the same 1.3L multijet diesel engine which does duty on the SX4 and a lot of others. But it is expected to get the 1.4L K-Series petrol engine from Ertiga. There has been no official confirmation from Maruti but our sources reveal that the car would hit the streets in the coming few months and is expected to be priced between 8-11 lacs.

2. Maruti Suzuki Swift Facelift:

Swift facelift is going to be the first in the series of many; it would just be a cosmetic upgrade and will share the mechanicals of the present version but with more features. Scheduled to hit the streets possibly in July the car may get keyless entry and an engine start stop button. Upholstery might go through a slight colour change on the lines of the present Dzire.

It may gets LED daytime running lights just below the fog lamps and a more prominent front bumper. Pricewise it should continue to be offered at around the similar range as the current Swift.

3.Dzire Facelift:

The car which literally started India’s fascination for compact sedans is getting a facelift ahead of its usual three years’ timeline because of growing competition which have fresher looking models. The update is expected on the lines of the new Swift and it may also get more features.

According to the latest spsyhots, new Dzire facelift gets a lot of chrome overdose specially on the front. It is expected to be launched by August/September to cash in to the festive rush and prices are expected to get a very minor increment, if et all!

4. Alto K10 Facelift & AMT:

The powered up version of the country’s highest selling car is all set to get a comprehensive facelift because of some serious competition from the Hyundai Eon and the Datsun Go. MotorBash has the exclusive spyshots of the car from both front and rear which we shared a few weeks back.

The car gets a chrome strip above the radiator grille and appears to carry a lot of ‘Celerio-ish’ looks. The rear, though, follows the lines of the present generation Alto 800. The car also appears to be a bit taller than the current gen K10. It should be getting the same 1.0L petrol engine but in Celerio’s tune with possibly an even higher fuel efficiency claims. But the most important addition is speculated to be the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). It is expected to hit the streets around the festive season.
