Ford has started marketing the new Ka (Figo) and Ka+ (Figo sedan) in Brazil. We have managed to get a couple of videos which do not appear to be Television Commercials but some sort of promo material.
Next-Gen Ka twins will be launched in Brazil sometime during these World Cup times and their launch has been specifically tuned to be in tandem with the festival of football.
Ford has been very silent about the next-gen Figo sedan (Ka+) in India after its official unveiling in February, but it is expected to be launched soon, possibly around the festival season or early next year. Soon to follow will be the Figo hatchback. Or there is always the possibility of both of them launching simultaneously. So far, Ford has only showcased the sub 4-meter Figo Compact Sedan in India.
The new Figo in Brazil will be getting a 1.0L ECOnetic naturally aspirated petrol/ethanol mill producing 85PS of maximum power which is possibly some relative of the 1.0L EcoBoost we have known. India will obviously not get this but we do hope Ford offers the 1.0L EcoBoost on both these twins, even in a lower state of tune!
These two videos of Ka and the Ka+ share possibly the first ever good look of both the cars in production guise. The Ka commercial shows some strange figures at 0:19, which may or may not be efficiency figures. The Ka+ video gives a very good idea of the interiors, which have turned out to be pretty decent. The electrically adjustable front driver seat is a nice touch. The infotainment system looks to be the same which was allegedly revealed by a Ford dealer a few days back. It has an uncanny similarity with EcoSport and other Ford’s latest cars.
The Figo is one of the most important model for the company and Ford will be hoping for an EcoSport kind of a response to it!
