The new 2015 Volvo XC90, launched in India in May 2015 at Rs 65 Lakhs, has turned out to be one of the safest car in the world in crash test results. It has already registered over 250 bookings in India.
The five star rated Volvo XC90 which was unveiled just two months back in India, has registered 266 bookings already. The 2015 XC90 is the first model to be based on Volvo’s in-house Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). With standard City Safety technology, XC90 stood out as the first car from any manufacturer to score full points in Euro NCAP Autonomous Emergency Braking Car to Car rear end tests (AEB City and AEB Interurban).
The new Volvo XC 90 has recorded over 57,000 orders globally and the Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, Sweden has just started up a third production shift to meet customer demand for their new flagship SUV. Interestingly, the customers globally have opted for the range topping Inscription model (that’s a whopping 76 per cent of the total booking).
With a score of 100 per cent in the Safety Assist category the new 2015 XC 90 is also the first model to attain a maximum score in the two Autonomous Emergency Braking tests AEB City & AEB Interurban. It is also loaded with state of the art advanced pedestrian protection functionality. Its city safety is one of the most advanced standard crash prevention technology available in any car available in the world.
Volvo plans to start deliveries of the 2015 XC90 in India later this month.
