Waiting Period of Diesel Verna, i20 To Go Down as Hyundai Increases Production

After Maruti’s production increment for the Swift, Hyundai has taken a similar step. The company is increasing the production of diesel variants of its hot selling sedan Verna and the newly launched i-Gen i20. Currently, these two cars have a long waiting period for the diesel variant. If you plan to take Verna Diesel, you had to wait for as many as 6 months.

Taking a note of this and seeing the increased demand towards the diesel specific models Hyundai has increased sourcing of diesel engines from South Korea. After this development, Hyundai will be able to supply 10,500 units of both these cars, a considerable 50 percent increase from the current 7000 units.

Hyundai expects the waiting period of diesel Verna to drop to 2-3 months and the new i-Gen i20 to a month. With diesel engined cars gaining more and more buyers importance, India is getting more of a diesel specific model with decreasing petrol variants moving out of the showrooms.
