After achieving huge success and facing excessive market demands, Mahindra is again up to re-open the bookings of the XUV 500 across the country, commencing from June 8, 2012. In the second phase of booking, M&M received a huge 25,000+ bookings from interested customers. But due to production capacity constraints, they have chosen only 7,200 lucky customers, selected through lottery. After getting this overwhelming response, Mahindra pumped up the production capacity to 4,o00 units per month. The company has already sold the outcome of 9 months of production process in just 2 rounds of booking.
Mr. Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said: “We have been inundated with requests for re-opening of bookings not just from existing cities but also from cities where the XUV500 was not available. Now that we have ramped-up our production capacity significantly, we are confident that we will be able to take care of the growing all-India demand for the XUV500”.
