Wrangler Unlimited & Grand Cherokee SRT Showcased to Private Audience Ahead of Auto Expo Premier

While the Auto Expo is just round the corner Fiat could not stop itself from showcasing its upcoming sister brand Jeep in India. At a private function in the city of Bengaluru, the company displayed the Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee SRT to what seems to be a group of prospective customers. Pictures of these came up on the Facebook Group Team Fiat Moto Club.

Our regular readers would remember that the before this, the iconic SUV maker had launched their India specific website towards the fag end of December 2015. Apart from these two models, Jeep will also launch the Grand Cherokee standard variant in India.

These three models are expected to be brought initially as CBUs. FCA is also pumping in an investment to the tune of 280 million dollars which will be used for expanding their Ranjangaon facility.

This will make it the fourth country apart from the US where Jeeps are produced. However, the facility will commence production only in the second quarter of 2017. A brand new Jeep, possibly a sub Renegade product will also be manufactured in India.

The Jeep brand’s entry in the Indian market has been delayed for a long time now with a lot of promises broken by Fiat. The wait though, is all set to end in February at the Delhi Auto Show.
