XUV 500 Magic Going Down(?) as Duster Continues Bloodshed, Registers 8000 Bookings

Call it the inevitable or the happening of fate, even the ‘higher than anticipated’ prices are not stopping people from booking the Duster. Last we got updated, the score stood at 6000 bookings in a matter of 5 days.

And if anyone thought that was the initial euphoria, a net addition of more than 2000 bookings till now proves that Indians are just crazy about SUVs. A total of 8000 bookings in a matter of 10 odd days speaks at a loud voice that we want more and more potent SUVs for ever-increasing off-roading hungry souls.

According to Hormazd Sorabjee, almost 7500-7600 bookings ie 95 percent have been for both the diesel variants – 85PS & 110PS. Petrol variant has to make do with only a handful of interests.

Another related interesting story is the reported loss of interest in the Mahindra Blockbuster XUV5OO. We have Premier Rio 1.3L MultiJet scheduled to launch this month, Mahindra Mini-Xylo in the coming months and then the all important Ford EcoSport around Jan 2013.
