Mahindra’s flagship XUV500 has been recalled by the manufacturer. The company has announced that they will be contacting select customers to make a small upgradation to side curtain airbags’ software.
Only XUV500 manufactured before July 2014 will be affected by this recall. While the actual number of affected units is not known but it may involve all the side airbag variants sold so far (manufactured before Jule 2014). It is understood that no physical parts will be altered in the process.
This upgrade will be done completely free of cot and customers will be contacted directly by the company. Back in November 2014, the company had issued a recall for the XUV 500 along with Scorpio and Xylo to replace a defective vacuum pump in the engine.
