Tata at Auto Expo: “Sporty” Compact Sedan, Nexon & Hexa Crossover Confirmed

Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the compact sedan version of the Zica will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo on February 3, 2016. The stage will also mark the first public appearance of the Zica hatchback. After the Zest and Bolt duo these two cars are expected to be the key driving stories behind Tata’s revival story in the passenger car segment.

Being referred to as the ‘sporty compact sedan’, the car will be using the same underpinnings and powertrains as that of the Zica. Codenamed as Kite 5, the small sedan, according to what we understand, will NOT replace the Indigo eCS but may push it completely into the commercial segment.

Also sharing the stage will be the production ready version of the Hexa, which was earlier revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in concept form. The Hexa will be a replacement of the Aria which, despite being a nice package, could not get any kind of traction in sales. A preview of the Nexon, Tata’s answer to the compact SUV battle, and Safari Storme Tuff will also be present.

A unique personalisation studio has been planned for visitors where they can create their own designs with the help of specialists from Tata. Gracing this pavilion will be the Zica Aktiv, Zest and Hexa Tuff which will be fitted with body kits to separate them from the pack.

Claimed to be the largest OEM stall at the 2016 Auto Expo, Tata will begin its entry to a very crucial year when they mark their way with an indigenously developed diesel mill for the Zica hatch and Kite 5 compact sedan. With over 20 passenger and commercial vehicles, Tata will be setting up camp in Hall no 14.
