Apart from the new cheaper and more modern variant Alto 800, Maruti is also working on its current Alto range. Currently, the F8D ie the 800cc Alto is available in CNG avatar.
Maruti plans to launch a CNG variant of the bigger 1L engined Alto K10 as well. Due to the rising petrol prices, Indian market has seen a drastic shift towards cheaper-to-run fuels like diesel, CNG and LPG. The new Alto K10 CNG would provide an alternate options to customers who are looking for cheaper running costs.
The current 800cc Alto CNG is available in all the trims – STD, LX and LXi. It is expected that Alto K10 would also get CNG in both LXi and VXi trims. Similar to 800cc Alto, the new Alto K10 CNG is expected to carry a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the corresponding petrol-only variant.
There is no official word about its launch but we expect it might happen pretty soon.
