Toyota Etios and Etios Liva Snapped Uncamouflaged

The brand Toyota may not have any major launches lined in the medium sized car territory in India but that is not going to stop them from meddling with their existing range. With an update for the Etios family launched recently in the Brasilian market, it is only fair for the Indian market getting ready for one now.

Gaadiwaadi.com has shared some new images of the Etios sedan and Etios Liva hatchback, giving us an idea of how the updated cars look. A new chrome lined front grille and restyled bumpers greet at the first instance. The front also gets chrome lined fog lamps. The boot carries a chrome strip running between the tail lamps with Etios embossed on it. The hatchback gets similar changes except the chrome strip on the boot lid.

If we talk about interiors, that’s where the Indian version will fall behind. The Brazilian version gets an all-digital instrumentation, touchscreen entertainment system and mono coloured dash. India however, will get a dual tone dash, 2 DIN music system and redesigned instrumentation. The awkward, non-traditional positioning of the speedo and tacho still seems as an eyesore to us.

Continuing with India’s love for chrome, even the aircon vents get a chrome lining. If we talk about the powertrain, the cars shall continue with the same 1.4-litre diesel in both the cars. The sedan will get the same 1.5-litre petrol while the Etios Liva’s 1.2-litre petrol will also remain unchanged. Transmission duties will continue to be overseen by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

We expect the Etios and Liva updates to be launched any day now!
