Volkswagen should be launching the new Vento soon but there is no defined date on that yet. Meanwhile if you are interested in the car and your want your Vento to be a little different than the crop on the roads, then you can have a look at the recently launched Vento Konekt.
This would be a limited edition Vento which focuses on entertainment, and would be available only in Comfortline and Highline trims.
The refreshing new center console, as an infotainment system by Blaupunkt is the centre of attention. The 7 inch TFT touch screen console has the latest Igo-Navtech maps for navigation, USB connectivity, iPhone/iPod compatibility and SD card slot. The car also boasts of GPS navigation, hands free Bluetooth telephony.
The screen will also double up as a rear view camera display. It can also store upto 1000 entries from your phone’s contacts book for easy dialing. The hard keys and rotary encoders get Vario colour (RGB 256 colours) to add to the style factor.
Additionally, Volkswagen has given due importance to the rear seat entertainment. The car sports an 8 inch Android tablet with 3G compatibility by Blaupunkt. The tablet also has dual SIM functionality and WiFi capability. The HD display of the tablet gives the rear seat passenger the chance to enjoy 16 channels of live television, Internet Radio, weather updates, live stock market feeds and a lot more.
One can also access their social network profiles thanks to easy access to Facebook and Twitter. It even allows video calling on the go via 3G connection. It will even help you to find the nearest Volkswagen dealership and service centre.
The Android environment also allows a plethora of applications and games which can be enjoyed on the tablet, making the experience of travelling even more fun. The ability to use Google Maps will be an added benefit.
The car includes new leatherette seats and a Konekt logo below the Volkswagen logo on the boot lid, and new stylish scuff plates. The car will be available in the same six standard colors seen on the regular Vento. Mechanically, the car remains exactly the same with the same engine options. there have been no word about the prices of the car yet.
