And it’s finally official! The new Polo facelift will be launched on this coming July 15, 2014. The eagerly awaited car will be unveiled in New Delhi and needless to say, our Delhi team would be covering the event. The updated Polo was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show with subtle changes which only the seasoned eye can point out.
Here is a list of changes to give you an idea of what’s new:
The biggest change though will be the new 1.5L diesel engine which will reportedly come in two tunes – 89bhp and 104bhp. It appears that Volkswagen will keep the higher powered motor reserved for the Vento (and the Skoda Rapid). This also means that the 1.6L engine of the Polo GT TDI will no more be on offer.
However, the new Polo facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.2L 3-cylinder and 1.2L Turbocharged TSI petrol mills. Volkswagen is expected to launch the Polo facelift at a slight premium than the existing model, specially for the diesel one. Keep tuned!
