Scoop: Chevrolet BEAT EV Spotted

The concept of the Chevrolet Beat was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show back in 2007. The production version of Chevrolet Beat was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. It finally became available in the first quarter of 2010. After grabbing a good part of the market share, in the latter half of 2011, General Motors officially announced an Electric Version of Beat.

Well, we’re glad to inform you that the sleuths at have spotted the Electric Version of Beat. The test mule appears to be distinctive from the other variants.


The facts about this vehicle that we’re aware of, are as follows:

  • Redesigned front fascia with new Grille and Front Fog Lamps.
  • Since it’s an electric vehicle, there’s no exhaust at the rear, hence the rear bumper looks relatively different.
  • New 10-Spoke Allow Wheel Design
  • Powered by a Permanent Magnetic Electric Motor
  • 114 BHP of power
