Mahindra’s well kept secret has been busted, at least partially, as a unit of their upcoming compact SUV – first in the onslaught, TUV300 has been caught partially camouflaged. This is the best look of the TUV300 yet from these pics coming from Anything-on-wheels which also reveal the dimensions of the SUV.
It is fairly decent in size and not a micro-SUV as the S101 is expected to be. It clearly has resemblances with Bolero but Mahindra says it is built on an all-new platform. The boxy-design, exposed spare wheel enhances the SUV appeal but we wonder how can Mahindra miss on that extra dose of cladding, or is it because of this being a lesser variant, hence its not in view?
This TUV300 here has a black-colored seven slat grille, clear-lens angular headlamps, black-colored bumpers and more importantly the Christmas-tree tail-lamps have been dropped and they are below the rear windshield.
The compact SUV is shod with CEAT tyres and if we sneak in, those are covered jump seats at the rear, just like Quanto.
TUV300 will be a sub 4 meter compact SUV from Mahindra and has been confirmed to get a three cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, details of which have not been shared officially. Going by the name, we believe it may churn out 80 bhp of power and will be a derivative of the 1.5L motor from the Quanto.
Mahindra has confirmed its launch for mid-September ie just next month and we expect very impressive pricing.
